Every week at Summit Fit Dojo, we have an early morning Small Group Personal Training session at 6:00 am.

Yea, it's early.  But, what better way to get your day going than an early workout.

Today was a PFT Day or Physical Fitness Training Day.  What does that mean...?  We basically have everyone run 1 Mile, do Situps for 2 minutes and Pushups for 2 minutes.  During these days, it's a great way to bench mark your progress through our fitness program and see where you need to improve.

Want to see how physically fit you are?  Try this... Time yourself running a mile.  For the average person, they typically can run 1 mile in about 10 minutes.  That's pretty good too... 

If you're able to go below 10 minutes, than you're in pretty good conditioning shape... but that's not all of it. Now, time yourself to see how many pushups you can do in 2 minutes.

However, this is how a proper pushup should look like. 

The average person should get about 40 pushups in about 2 minutes.  If you can do more, AWESOME.  If it's less, than we need to start building your strength and conditioning...

Finally, time yourself to see how many sit ups you can do in 2 minutes.  This is usually the weakest part of the body for most people.  Mainly because of our poor diet practices and minimal exercises performed to build stronger muscles in the abs.  To learn how to do a proper sit up, click here.  The average person can probably do about 30-40 situps in about 2 minutes.

Once you've timed yourself, than continue to increase your training or workouts throughout the week.  About every 2-3 weeks, do another test to see how well you're improving.
