Over the past 3 years I've been fortunate enough to run in the Spartan Race Military Sprint in Ft. Carson, CO. This particular race is considered by many as one of the toughest Spartan Sprints, mainly because the military has a major role in designing the obstacles. Summit Fit Dojo and their coaches have been participating in these races with our clients since 2012, when one of our clients approached me and said they wanted to get ready for the Spartan Race in May 2014. My first response was, "sure I can get you ready for this race. Now, what does this race consist of? And, why haven't I heard about it?" He ended up telling me more about the race and what it entails, and it seemed REALLY awesome. It gave me a reason to truly enjoy running. See, I'm fine running about 3 to 5 miles, but I sometimes get bored with the same mundane running. I rather be doing something in between so that it breaks things up. After going home and Google-ing "spartan race" I was in a state of "shock & ah". I couldn't believe there was a race like this. At the end of 2013 I was laying in bed next to my wife looking through some emails, and just surfing some pages on my iPad. When it hit me. And, when I say it hit me... I had already made my decision to move forward.
