Summit Fit Dojo Outdoor FitnessTraining outside is fun and exciting. Not mundane and boring! This week we were actually able to train outside for the first time this year on both Tuesday and Thursday. With all the rain and crazy weather we’ve been having during the past couple of months, it’s been pretty crazy. But, we are now back on ‘Colorado’ weather! If you’ve missed out on our Outdoor Small Group Fitness Training, then you need to come by and check it out. Everyone says they’ve been enjoying the sessions because they like being outside, in the fresh air, where it’s not stuffy. We agree! Here’s what we did on both those days.

Tuesday Outdoor Boot Camp

Interval Training – Working the Legs

40 seconds / 20 seconds / 3 sets / 3 rounds
  • Cone Jumps
  • Flutter Kicks
  • Air Squats
  • Push Ups
  • 200 Meter Jogs
Basically our athletes did 40 seconds of training during each exercise, got a 20 second break and did 3 sets per exercise.  Once they cycled through the workout, they repeated the round again for a total of 3 rounds.

Thursday Outdoor Boot Camp

Dirty Thirty

  • 30 Kettlebell Swings
  • 200 Meter Sprint
  • 30 Kettlebell Squat ‘N’ Press
  • 200 Meter Sprint
  • 30 Kettlebell Single Arm Rows
  • 200 Meter Sprint
AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible): 30 Minutes So, our fitness clients repeated this exercise for 3o minutes, and it was a killer and great workout! We had one athlete get 5 rounds in while others got 4 rounds in.  So, with 5 rounds, Sammi ended up doing the following: 150 Kettlebell Swings, 150 Kettlebell Squat ‘N’ Press, 150 Kettlebell Single Arm Rows, and 3000 Meter Sprints (which is just shy of 2 miles running!). Most people can run 2 miles in about 20 – 24 minutes… If you are saying… “wow, that’s a lot and I can’t do that.” Or, “I’m out of shape, I’d be done after the first round” Well, here’s the truth… with an encouraging fitness coaching staff, and your desire to give it all you got, you WILL begin to see results.  No questions asked. Not just in your appearance, but also in your performance. You don’t have to be in shape to take our boot camps!
